The First Ping
Welcome anyone who happened to stumble upon this blog. Its late but a quick post to fire away and say hello to the “blogosphere.” In my day job, I’m a search marketing manager who spends too much time looking at spreadsheets, databases, analytics programs, and a cascade of numbers. As well as making sure I’m not being creamed on those $10 dollar-per-click-watch-how-fast-you-can-lose-money-and-be-talked-to-by-the-CEO. But the truth is I love doing it. I’ve been a data and technology guy from day one, starting with the Texas Instruments computer around 4 years old, working up to IBM PS-2, dialing up BBS’s at first, then surfing gopher and the primitive web at the college library, all before I reached high school. Then throw in 8 years of intensive use of lexis-nexis, westlaw, and other horribly expensive but addictive data sources, and you are witnessing the birth of a search marketer and overall lover of data.
The aim of this blog is to explore issues involved with search algorithms, spam analysis, sophisticated analysis of links, market research, keyword trends, and all of the social aspects that are making the web “hot” again. Throw in bits of Ruby on Rails, dynamic music systems, and other tidbits, and you have yourself a regular ole technology loving blog.
